I think something that would help the enjoyability would definitely be healing the player after a fight because as it is its pretty impossible to get 1st(for me at least).
Having the player start at near dead last adds to this as well.
The dice mechanic doesn't really work in a game like this or at least not in the way its implemented here(Being the main source of speed and all that)
I do like the art though, gives off a old school arcade game vibe
Ya, its always hard to do the balancing for the difficulty. In our playtest it felt too easy to win all times so we tried to balance it in a way that you cannot always win in this three day race.
